We are thrilled to recognize Kay Gallagher as the March Aging Well Award Winner!

Kay celebrated her 80th birthday this past year, and she’s still going strong as a fitness instructor at the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Center in St. Joseph. A lifelong athlete and champion for healthy living, Kay has inspired generations with her dedication to wellness—both physical and spiritual.

Her passion for fitness began in her youth, playing many sports all the way through school and into her adult years. She even owned her own gym, The Shape Shop, before starting to teach classes at Joyce Raye in 1996. Since then, she’s led countless classes in line dancing, total body workouts, pilates, yoga, and tai chi—and she still uses various pieces of each in her workout routines today.

"Just keep moving your feet and get the best out of your exercise."

Kay isn’t just leading workouts—she’s leading by example. More fit now than ever, she encourages everyone she meets to stay active, stay connected, and embrace purpose in every season of life. She encourages seniors to, "Just keep moving your feet and get the best out of your exercise." She is truly a shining example of aging well.

Way to go, Kay! We’re so proud to celebrate you!
